Awelon is a luxury cliff-top cottage with exposed beams and stone walls surrounded by National Trust land in an area of outstanding natural beauty, situated between Abersoch and Aberdaron on the unspoilt Llŷn peninsula. This beautiful, recently restored and sympathetically modernised house, parts of which dates back to the 16th Century, standing in its own gardens of a third of an acre overlooking the 6 miles of sands of Porth Neigwl (Hell's Mouth) - the premier bay for surfing in North Wales. |

The house itself comprises 5 bedrooms sleeping 10 to 12 people plus 2 cots, a huge flagged kitchen/diner with Aga like range, side by side fridge freezer, dishwasher, ancient granite fireplace and fire; a huge living room with an enormous log burning stove and French windows overlooking the bay, a beautifully appointed bathroom with power shower, with another separate shower room. The new section of the house comprises a cathedral ceiling living room with stone fireplace and flagged floor and minstrel gallery to the master bedroom which has an oak floor and exposed granite wall. |

There is an en suite bathroom with power shower and double aspect with stunning views (as has the bedroom) over the bay, and towards the mountain behind the house. In addition there is a boot room/utility room with washer and dryer, lavatory, and ample drying space. |

There are terraces at both the back and front of the house with garden furniture to take in the breathtaking views across the sea stretching for over 40 miles to the Snowdonia mountain range and Cardigan Bay including Criccieth and Harlech, as well as a 10 seater dining table on the flagged terrace with stone outdoor fireplace/barbeque. |
From the escarpment behind the house you can see England, Scotland
and Ireland and as far as Strumble Head in South Wales. In the
foreground there is the Holy Island of Bardsey (Ynys Enlli), boat trips
to which are a delight.
Within a short distance there are truly stunning bays and coves from
Porth Oer (Whistling Sands), Porth Iago (a small smuggler's cove),
Aberdaron with pubs and
shops and a lovely beach, Abersoch
with its marina and wealth of restaurants, and the market town of
Pwllheli. There are two award winning links golf courses, as well as a
range of water sports and of course the stunning countryside to walk
(the house is on the Llŷn Coastal Path) and cycle through. The village
of Portmeirion, famous
for the its pottery and television appearances is a half hour drive. The
Village of Rhiw is the highest on the Llŷn peninsula and contains the
National Trust manor house property of Plas yn Rhiw.
